Gay men give the best relational advice. New research shows that straight women trust the advice they get from their gay, male friends more than anyone else. Why? Keen insight and a lack of competition give gay men the advantage when it comes to helping straight women make sense of their relationships. The same principle applies in the reverse as well – gay men trust the advice they get from straight women. When you eliminate self-interest from the equation, things become more clear.
