OK I don't know what to do. I have two roomates, a couple, and the girl Ive known for about a year now, lies about everything, she makes up stories about her life that never happened and she goes on and on and on and you cannot interrupt her even though you know what she is saying is insane. Why does she do this? And its always somthing depressing that she is lying about "Oh my friend so and so yeah her dad rapes her alll the time and like ....." and "when i was younger i got my lungs taken out and now i have a hard time breathing" and " the doctors say i wont be able to walk soon" All of this is insane!! She is a fine healthy 18 yr old girl she never had lungs removed and she walks fine. And if I tell a real story she will have to back it up with one of her stories that will sound similar to mine but with some random tragedy involved. Its so clearly fake. Everyone I know around me can't stand her and they know she is lying about everything too.
Why does she do this? How can I stop it? How come her boyfriend doesn't say anything? Does he really believe what she is saying?! I really can't stand this any longer.

Jennifer, it sounds like you are in a really difficult situation. Sad to say there are many people out there like your roomate. Many times there is a mental health issue involved. There is nothing you can do to stop it. What I suggest is you leave as soon as you can and get on with your life. She needs a lot more help than you can give her. As for her boyfriend, he probably realizes she lies but is willing to put up with it at this time. Don't you let her drag you down though.
