Just Broke Up with Boyfriend -- a Compulsive Liar 3 Months ago
I finally broke up with him today. I'm tired of all the lies and deceptions, stories that don't add up.

I've been with him for 11 months. In the short time I've known him, I've witnessed him tell so many white lies, when telling the truth would have been much easier. He tells angry clients he's on his way, only 5 minutes away, when he's still home. He tells clients he will consult with his colleague who's a medical doctor to recommend herbal treatments, when, in fact, he called me (not a doctor). He's told countless other white lies.

Also, I don't understand why he bails out on responsibility and advices his family to make poor financial decisions, e.g. let the car be repossessed to get rid of the monthly payment, buy a computer for $2000.00 to develop credit, when the computer could have been bought for $800.00.

He's also failed to live up to his promises to me. He was in so much of a hurry to get married, when it turned out in reality, he had no money. He wanted to marry within a week of dating! Impulsive and very fishy. Also, he has a child support case and insists that he is not the father, when the DNA result indicates he is. He still argues that the test was wrong and should be retaken.

Many times he comes home late and his stories just don't make sense.

I can go on and on about examples, but will stop.

I'm relieved to break up with him. I should have never gotten involved with him. I saw the signs from the beginning. What stable man would propose to you on the second time you see him?

Whacko.

I know what you are going through. I did it myself for a little over three years.

My liar also made bad financial decisions and he brought me to financial ruin.

Hang in there. You made the right choice.
