Ari wrote:
Reading your post it occurs to me that your husband and mine share many of the same behaviors, chief among them what I like to call the "Dance of Deny and Deflect". Deny you've done anything and deflect attention to someone else. My husband is a pro, but as his lies have become more elaborate, they've become far less believable, and I feel some sense of restored sanity knowing I've not imagined all the henious things he's done. My husband has been arrested for solicitation of a prostitute (I swear, all I asked for was a massage, I was set up), he's spent money with an escort service and when I presented him with the debit card receipt - he swore six ways from Sunday that it wasn't his (it was poorly hidden in his wallet). He's also racked up dozens of calls to hookers (even some trannies) in another country then insisted someone had hijacked his cell phone and made the calls. IT'S NEVER HIM, NEVER HIS FAULT. I do believe my husband has a sexual addiction, which may stem in part from his childhood/upbringing. That's no excuse. His behavior has cost him 3 marriages and nearly a million dollars in lawyers fees, alimony and child support. And it may well cost him this, his 4th marriage. And still he denies and deflects. Please, please, please find a copy of the book: "When Your Lover Is A Liar" ... it is a HUGE help to know it's NOT all in your head. With you in spirit, Ari
